Antoninus Pius, 138-161. Aureus (Gold, 20 mm, 7.12 g, 12 h), Rome, 138. IMP T AEL CAES HADRI ANTONINVS Bare head of Antoninus Pius to right. Rev. AVG•PIVS•P•M - TR•P•COS•DES•II Pietas standing front, head to left, raising her right hand over garlanded and lighted altar at her feet to left, and holding incense box in her left. BMC 30. Calicó 147. Cohen 73 corr. (omits altar). RIC 14a. Perfectly centered and with a lovely portrait. A couple of small scratches, otherwise, very fine.
